Bill: To convert the U.S. number system to the metric system
Pros:
Used by 95% of all countries in the worlds.
Medicines are measured in metric system.
Goes by 10s while customary goes by 12s.
Students could learn measurements in math easier.
It would be easier for the world to communicate.
Easier for international companions.
Kids must learn the metric system in science classes either way.
Several other countires have already changed from a customoary system to metric.
Cons:
Too much changing, like football fields, gas pumps, clothing and shoe sizes, speed
limit signs, scales, thermometers, etc.
Too bizarre.
Already in major debt, we would just be adding to that.
Hard for people to adjust to.
Costs $370 million to change.
